After practicing for 14 years as a family physician, Dr. Godwin decided to pursue her graduate degree in psychology at Pepperdine University, integrating her dual training to provide complete care to patients. Cultivating a deep understanding of the psychology behind health conditions empowers a truly functional approach to care.
Dr. Godwin often finds that once physicians eliminate possible causes of a patient’s symptoms through medical technology, such as labs and imaging, the fear behind what is causing those symptoms resolves, but the symptoms remain. Traditional medical care often stops here. Dr. Godwin is determined to find root causes and incorporate uniquely curated nutritional advice, exercise recommendations, sleep guidance, natural supplements and other functional tools to overcome barriers to better health. Dr. Godwin will manage patients’ existing medications and will consider adding medications when indicated.
